The Dr Pepper Tuition Giveaway Program Is a Game Changer for Students

Since 2008, the Dr Pepper Tuition Giveaway Program has provided deserving students with tuition support. Over the last 13 years, students across the country have received a total of $12.5 million through the program. Dr Pepper’s longstanding relationship with college football sets the perfect stage for students to compete in the annual, head-to-head scholarship throws. In addition to the popular Throw Competition, Dr Pepper provides many other students with tuition support through creative contests and games.

The Dr Pepper Tuition Giveaway program continues to innovate each year; offering new and exciting opportunities for students to compete for college tuition. In 2021, students took to TikTok to submit their entries to the #IDeserveTuition contest. Finalists competed in the Throw Competitions at each of the five marquee NCAA conference championship games including the ACC, Big 12, SEC, Big Ten and Pac-12.

Each year, Dr Pepper teams up with celebrity guests to surprise deserving students with these tuition awards. Notable names such as Bill Nye, Dude Perfect and Fansville Sheriff Brian Bosworth are few of the many people who have delighted fans during these giveaways. With rising interests in cryptocurrency, billionaire and cryptocurrency advocate Mark Cuban joined two participants in Dr Pepper’s first-ever Bitcoin toss where two students walked away with tuition support in the form of bitcoin.
