Andrew Archambault Featured Speaker at the 2022 Beverage Digest Future Smarts Conference
Earlier this month, Andrew Archambault, President of Commercial & Beverage Concentrates, touched down in the heart of New York City’s Times Square to take part in the 2022 Beverage Digest Future Smarts Conference. As a featured speaker, Archambault took the stage for a one-on-one conversation with Beverage Digest Editor and Publisher Duane Stanford to cover a variety of topics, sharing how KDP continues to drive forward as a modern beverage company.
Archambault started by discussing KDP’s commercial organization, sharing that KDP is a top 10 food and beverage company, and, for many retailers, KDP’s portfolio covers nine different aisles in their stores.
When asked about trends in the modern marketplace, he pointed to the acceleration of e-commerce, pickup and delivery, online delivery and national ship, highlighting KDP’s deep understanding of how to partner with retailers in these areas.
Further delving into how KDP’s powerful routes-to-market serve the Company, Archambault specifically called out that during the pandemic, “We were fortunate to have those capabilities underway and we have a direct-to-consumer platform for our Keurig.com business, so that gave us a lot of learning and scale.” He added, “The DSD aspect of how you get product to market or in general, just your flexible route-to-market, became even more important when supply chains were strained, to say the least.”
Discussing how the Company continues to deliver against its vision for a beverage for every need, Archambault gave several examples, starting with the successful-on-all-fronts merger that created Keurig Dr Pepper. Other examples he pointed to include the acquisition of CORE Hydration, now the fastest-growing brand in premium unflavored water, and partnerships with Polar Seltzer, Evian and Vita Coco, which are all growing market share.
He also spoke to the continued blurring on the alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverage categories, noting KDP’s recent acquisition of the global rights to the non-alcoholic, ready-to-drink cocktail brand Atypique and investment in non-alcoholic beer leader Athletic Brewing Company.
