Green Day’s Punk Bunny Coffee™ Takes Center Stage as New Keurig® Partner Brand

Back in 2015, global rock superstars, Green Day – Mike Dirnt, Billie Joe Armstrong, and Tré Cool –experimented with brewing small batches of organic coffee for their friends and family on tour, establishing their first coffee company, Oakland Coffee.

Nearly a decade later, the band is venturing into a new project of a fully branded Green Day coffee to energize them after late nights writing, rehearsing, and performing.

The new company captures the essence of a Green Day concert experience with blends that are bold, exciting, and anything but ordinary, so it was only natural they named it after their iconic mascot: Punk Bunny.

Punk Bunny Coffee™ builds on the core values of Oakland Coffee to provide carefully curated organic, Fair Trade Certified™ coffee in convenient K-Cup® pods to music and coffee lovers everywhere.

As part of Green Day and Keurig Dr Pepper’s shared commitment to sustainability, Punk Bunny will be the first to launch all four of their K-Cup® pod varieties with easy-peel lids that make it easy to prepare pods for recycling[1].

As Dirnt explains, “For years, our band has been immersed in making damn good organic coffees with a strong focus on sustainability. Now in our 10th year, proud to be working closely in partnership with KDP to further push towards the sustainability of great products in the world of great, home brewed coffee!”

Punk Bunny is committed to sourcing only organically grown and Fair-Trade Certified™ coffee beans. Through fine tuning the perfect roasts, they’ve crafted a line of full-flavored, artisanal coffee that can be brewed at the push of a button.

  • Father of All…Dark Roasts – an ultra-dark blend from Central America and Sumatra, slow roasted for a smooth brew that’s bold and smoky with dark chocolate, caramel, and earthy notes.
  • Soundcheck™ – this dark roast will get you up out of your seat! A bold Central American blend with a distinct smokiness and notes of dark chocolate and spice. Naturally low in acid for all-day enjoyment.
  • Last Ride In – a medium-dark blend from Central and South America, slow roasted for a bold, smooth, easy-to-drink coffee with hints of caramelized sugar and lemon and a long, smooth finish.
  • Light Club – a light blend from Central and South America. This is the lightest of the Punk Bunny blends, with a hint of spice and notes of cocoa and citrus in the finish to provide the ultimate balance in a brew that’s anything but bitter.

Green Day and Punk Bunny’s “Fueled by Love” initiative will take a portion of profits from every bag or pod of Punk Bunny Coffee sold and distribute it equally to this quarter’s charity partners: One Tree Planted, Oceana, Keep Memory Alive, Eat. Learn. Play, and the Ron Finley Project.
