Leading with Vision: Tim Cofer Assumes CEO Role at KDP
We’re thrilled to welcome Tim Cofer as the new Chief Executive Officer at Keurig Dr Pepper (KDP). Tim joined the company in November as Chief Operating Officer as part of a planned transition to CEO as Bob Gamgort steps into an Executive Chairman role. Tim will now lead our executive team and spearhead an evolved strategic framework marking a new chapter of growth for our company.
Over the past few months, Tim has immersed himself in the business, listening to and visiting with our team members – from our headquarters facilities in Dallas and Boston to our distribution and manufacturing sites from Knoxville to Northlake. He’s also spent time out in the stores with our Direct Store Delivery teams witnessing our commercial strength in action. And he’s participated in our consumer and customer activation on a grand scale at championship football games with our iconic Dr Pepper brand.
In addition to hearing from our employees, he’s been sharing his view on the business as well. He’s put forward an evolved strategic framework based on the foundations of our company purpose to “Drink Well. Do Good.” and our vision of a beverage for every need, anytime and anywhere.
Our strategic framework is an evolution of where we’ve been, not a revolution. It includes a deliberate focus on five key strategies:
- Champion consumer-obsessed brand building to further strengthen our iconic brands
- Continue to shape our portfolio into new growth spaces
- Amplify our incredible route-to-market advantage
- Drive the next level of productivity gains to generate fuel for growth
- And maintain the discipline in how we dynamically allocate our capital
Importantly, our strategy is underpinned by our unique challenger culture and the best beverage talent in the industry. Our culture is defined by our core values of Team First, Think Bold, Deliver Big and Be Fearless and Fair.
Tim’s journey to the helm of KDP is shaped by decades of experience in the consumer-packaged goods (CPG) industry, particularly in the food and beverage sector. With a deep understanding of consumer preferences and a track record of driving growth across various categories, Tim brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to his new role.
In a recent interview with Yahoo Finance, outgoing CEO Bob Gamgort highlighted the meticulous process that led to Tim’s selection. Bob emphasized the need for a leader who not only understood consumers but also had experience running companies at scale and across diverse categories. Tim’s background perfectly aligns with these criteria, making him the ideal candidate to lead KDP into the future as a modern beverage company.
Under Tim’s leadership, we’re poised to deliver results for each of our key strategies with the clarity of purpose and vision required to unlock the next chapter of value creation for KDP.
