Dr Pepper Zero Sugar Took Over NASCAR’s 23XI Car

Last year, we announced Keurig Dr Pepper’s founding sponsorship of 23XI Racing, the new NASCAR team owned by six-time NBA champion Michael Jordan and three-time Daytona 500 winner Denny Hamlin. Now, the multi-year partnership has officially come to life, with Dr Pepper branding featured on the #23 car, driven by Bubba Wallace, and a series of exciting initiatives with Bubba himself.

At the May 2 NASCAR Cup Series race at Kansas Speedway, the #23 car was decked out in all Dr Pepper Zero Sugar branding for the first time, celebrating the launch of Dr Pepper’s newest product. The unmistakable Dr Pepper maroon car will be driven in two more major races this year. Since Bubba’s fans and Dr Pepper fans are some of the most loyal out there, we also teamed up to surprise some lucky fans with a personal lunch delivery from Bubba in the 23XI Dr Pepper Zero Sugar car! To enter to win, fans were asked to share on social media why they would love to have lunch with the NASCAR driver.

In a pre-race interview with Heavy.com, Bubba said, “I’m excited to, one, just have fan interaction again. You’re getting somewhat back to normal,” he explained. “Promoting Dr Pepper Zero Sugar is huge, giving out local bites around the Kansas City area is big. It’s just making them feel good, having that one-on-one authentic conversation.”

Bubba Wallace is a true trailblazer in the sport and we are honored to partner with the 23XI Racing team to make a difference both on and off the track. Bubba was nominated for a People’s Choice Award on the “Game Changer of 2020” ballot in the Pop Culture category and, in 2017, he launched the Live To Be Different Foundation to “lift up individuals seeking a means to fulfill their potential, no matter their age, skin color, disabilities or ambitions.”

We look forward to cheering Bubba on in the #23 car in his next race!
